Shakyo is the Japanese practice of copying Buddhist sutras by hand. This meditative activity helps deepen understanding of the sutras and achieve a state of inner calm. This calligraphy set contains 15 washi sheets, 1 brush-pen and a template. Simply by copying the sutras without thinking about anything else, the mind becomes “mu” (nothingness) and is appeased. This practice also improves concentration.
